  • Indonesia: Jum’atil
The Indonesian government is gearing its efforts to meet the MDGs while the community’s involvement falls low. Hospitals are not heavily affected by MDGs except for receiving additional resources such as medical equipment and training for health workers.
  • Rwanda: Elias
CHWs have made a comprehensive impact on the MDGs in Rwanda. CHWs are well-trained and knowledgeable about diseases, symptoms, transmission/ contamination, prevention and treatment. Many CHWs are distributed to remote areas where they educate families about nutrition, family planning, and health promotion activities such as how to prepare balanced diet. They are also screening malnutrition cases and referring complicated cases to the health facilities (health centers and hospitals).
  • Nepal: Ballav
Nepal has seen MDG success in their numeric targets; however the socioeconomic and geographic gaps have been exacerbated.
