CHW Central is thrilled to announce that the CHW Reference Guide Summary is now available for download from our website. The CHW Reference Guide Summary presents a 55-page synopsis of the original 468-page document, Developing and Strengthening Community Health Worker Programs at Scale: A Reference Guide and Case Studies for Program Managers and Policymakers. The original CHW Reference Guide was spearheaded by Henry Perry in collaboration with 27 different subject experts who, collectively, have a formidable breadth and depth of experience and knowledge about CHW programming around the world.
Originally published in May 2014 by USAID’s flagship Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP), the original CHW Reference Guide was created in response to the rapid increase in and expansion of CHW programs in low- and middle- income countries over the past decade. Over the last two years, CHW Central, in partnership with 16 experts, has featured 15 individual summaries and an in-depth case study based on the original guide. These experts were able to delve into topics and ensure that each summary was helpful, informative and accessible to our diverse audience. These chapters have now been consolidated into a single file for download.
